Fly Girls

Jo Kreiter's Flyaway Productions dance company is famous for aerial productions in which dancers rappel and climb as often as they twirl. It's tough, frightening work, not for sissies -- and the company is made up entirely of women. Obviously, they're great role models, and at "Truth Tellers," audiences can see the result of an intense collaboration between activist-minded teenage girls and the strong women of Flyaway. Using the physical aspects of dance to examine political problems, Kreiter and the young dancers contribute choreography that addresses media consolidation, on-campus military recruitment, and other issues girls think could use some improvement.
